INGREDIENTS

All KINFOLK candles are small-batched and carefully crafted by hand. Each begins with a 100% soy wax base that is ethically produced in the USA. We then pour our candles into a seamless jar, and a lead and zinc free cotton wick that promotes clear burning.

KINFOLK candles do not include dyes, phthalates or chemicals that harm the environment. They are safe to burn in your home and around your animals.

LONGEVITY

Because we want you to enjoy our candles for as long as possible, we strive to craft with ingredients that maximize burn time. We are proud to report that our 9oz candles have a 40+ hour burn time; more than plenty to enjoy with friends and family several times over!

*Keeping your wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch at all times, aids in fire safety and a longer burn time. We suggest trimming your wick every 4 hours of burn time. When wick trimming, you should always extinguish the flame, let the candle come to room temperature, and trim the wick before relighting.

FRAGRANCE

We are very cautious when it comes to our scent profiles. Unlike some candles, that you can pinpoint the fragrance type as soon as you open the jar, we prefer a profile that dances with nostalgia. A fragrance that makes you think: “Hmm… I can’t put my finger on this scent, but it makes me think of…”. Scent is so personal and unique to each person. By naming our candles by the idea that the scent invokes rather than the name of the fragrance itself, we foster that memory and avoid disconnection from a fleeting memory.

FOUNDER

Hi, family! It’s Jess - I am Founder and Operator of KINFOLK Candle Co, and welcome you here!

A little history on me and KINFOLK:
I found my love for small business in 2016 when I jumped head-first into entrepreneurship with my sister, and we launched Thistle + Pine Floral on Nike Headquarter campus in Beaverton, OR. With a family background in retail and small business, we leaped - both scared to death to loosen our grip on what we knew as stable careers and income - into our business. By 2020, we had grown to operate three floral and gift shop locations on the Nike campus and then… you guessed it… COVID-19 hit Oregon. Soon enough, all operations came to a sudden halt when campus shut down entirely. What was a “fun quick vacation from work” became “What the hell do we do now?”. Not long after we began looking for new careers, I longed for a creative outlet of my own again.

Home is extremely important to me. I know for myself, a clean home helps to convince my mentality that I can conquer the week ahead, even when I’m at my witsend. I reset my space by lighting a candle or filling an ultrasonic diffuser - I find that opening a window and adding clean home fragrance really does wonders to clean the air and energy. I guess fragrance has always been more about mindfulness to me in that way. Some fragrances help to invigorate, some help to calm and settle. Some deodorize and others take you back to that vacation you took decades ago to a hotel that you could only afford for one night. Or maybe to the summer bonfire with your family last 4th of July, your mama’s favorite lemon bar recipe, or a walk in your backyard garden in early summer. Whatever it is, I hope that KINFOLK takes you there. Or, at the very least, makes you feel more “at home'“. Comfortable. At peace. And offers a feeling of belonging.
